Medical School of Your Future – extended deadline for applications
2026-04-22Science communication is no longer an optional add-on to academic work — it is becoming an integral part of it. The way researchers present their findings increasingly shapes not only their visibility, but also their real impact on society, public policy, and innovation. The new course “ABC of Science Promotion,” available on NAVOICA, offers a practical introduction to the key areas of modern science communication.
Designed for researchers, PhD candidates, and students, the course helps participants communicate their work more effectively and reach audiences beyond academia. The program consists of four modules that guide learners through the core challenges of science communication — from simplifying complex content and choosing the right formats to building a recognizable expert profile.
Participants will explore practical tools and techniques used in science outreach: writing accessible popular science articles, creating engaging visual content (including infographics and video), and working effectively with the media. The course also encourages reflection on when and how to communicate research findings so they are not only understandable, but also relevant and impactful.
The course is based on the handbook “The Art of Science Promotion” and has a strong practical focus. It can be completed at one’s own pace, allowing participants to develop skills that are increasingly essential in today’s research environment.
Participation is free of charge.
