Awards for Outstanding Achievements
2025-11-20For their passion, creativity and energy, student organizations and associations operating at Wroclaw Medical University were honored during the 2024/2025 academic year. The laureates of this year’s ranking were announced during the fifth, jubilee gala organized by Prof. Agnieszka Piwowar, Vice-Rector for Students and Education, together with the Department of Student Affairs.
“Our ceremony is a celebration of people with exceptional abilities and character. Who else would consider a Friday evening the perfect time to be in a laboratory or workshop, and the weekend ideal for analyzing results and processing statistics? Only you — because you have POWER, perseverance and the will to act,” said Prof. Agnieszka Piwowar, quoting Winston Churchill: “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”
The Vice-Rector also addressed supervisors of student research clubs and organizations, emphasizing that without their support and trust many projects would never have come to life. “You motivate students, believe in them and rightly convince them that they can do it,” she added.
Albert Einstein once said: “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” “I wish you endless imagination. Don’t change — act as your hearts tell you to, and don’t stop exploring the university’s budget,” Prof. Piwowar concluded.
Joanna Kluza, Director of the Department of Student Affairs, highlighted the diversity of student initiatives: from conferences and preventive health campaigns to workshops and charity activities that bring joy to others.
“Your work shows that science and action can go hand in hand. In a world full of difficult topics, pressure and haste, you found the time to do something for your peers. Today’s ranking is not just a table, points and numbers. It is a map of people with big hearts and great passion, thanks to whom our university is not only a place of learning but also a community,” the laureates heard. The head of the DSS wished everyone successful collaborations, bigger budgets and slightly fewer emails marked “urgent.”

On this occasion, we wish you that — despite daily responsibilities — you never lose what truly matters: the joy of discovering medicine and a sense of purpose. May learning go hand in hand with passion, and ambition with care for yourselves and others. Let every passed exam be a small success on your way to fulfilling your professional dreams. And may you always be surrounded by kind people and the conviction that you have chosen a beautiful, though demanding, path.
Warm wishes,
The authorities and community
of Wroclaw Medical University
