2025-09-03Lecture by Prof. Leszek Lisowski, PhD, MBA, entitled ‘The presence and future of AAV-based therapies – next generation vectors and their clinical applications’ will be held on Wednesday, 25 June at 1 p.m. at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Wroclaw Medical University.
Prof. Leszek Lisowski, a renowned specialist in the field of gene therapy, head of the Translational Vectorology Research Unit (TVRU) at the Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) and professor of gene technology and therapy at the University of Sydney, has been conducting research on the development and clinical application of viral vectors, especially AAV, for over two decades.
His team develops innovative bioengineering and manufacturing strategies that are used in the treatment of rare genetic diseases, mainly in children. During the lecture, the professor will share his knowledge and experience in the field of gene therapy translation – from the laboratory to the first clinical trials.
