Free Webinar: Modern Computational Methods for Predicting Protein Structure, Dynamics and Function
2026-07-21Students and recent graduates are invited to participate in the 16th edition of the Golden Medal of Chemistry Competition, one of Poland’s leading competitions recognizing outstanding bachelor’s and engineering theses in chemistry and related fields.
Organized by the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPC PAS) in Warsaw in cooperation with DuPont, the competition promotes exceptional research conducted by young scientists at the beginning of their academic careers.
Who can apply?
The competition is open to authors of bachelor’s or engineering theses in:
- chemistry,
- interdisciplinary fields at the interface of chemistry and biology,
- interdisciplinary fields at the interface of chemistry and physics.
Eligible theses must have been completed and defended during the 2025/2026 academic year at a Polish higher education institution. Polish citizens who defended their theses at universities outside Poland are also eligible.
How to apply
Applications should be submitted electronically via the competition website by selecting “Registration / Thesis Submission”.
Application deadline: 10 October 2026

- 10 October 2026 – Application deadline
- 10 November 2026 – Announcement of finalists
- 24 November 2026 – Finalists’ presentations
- 15 December 2026 – Announcement of winners
Awards
The winners will receive medals and cash prizes:
- First Prize: PLN 15,000
- Second Prize: PLN 7,500
- Third Prize: PLN 3,750
