2026-06-08The Wrocław Academic Hub (Wrocławskie Centrum Akademickie, WCA) has launched a new call for applications for scholarships under the Student Scholarship Programme. Applications are open until 31 August 2026. The programme is aimed at doctoral candidates with outstanding scientific achievements in fields important for the development of Wrocław.
The initiative supports young researchers in pursuing their scientific careers, developing their talents, and conducting research with a meaningful impact on society and the city’s future.
Scholarships worth PLN 2,000 per month are awarded in eight categories named after distinguished Wrocław scholars and cultural figures:
- Ludwik Hirszfeld Scholarship – biological and medical sciences,
- Hugo Steinhaus Scholarship – mathematical sciences,
- Max Born Scholarship – physical and chemical sciences,
- Jerzy Grotowski Scholarship – arts,
- Jan Mozrzymas Scholarship – interdisciplinary research,
- Wincenty Styś Scholarship – social sciences and humanities,
- Marian Suski Scholarship – engineering and technical sciences,
- Alfred Jahn Scholarship – Earth and environmental sciences.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a doctoral school or doctoral programme conducted in Wrocław, demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, and must not have previously received funding under the programme. Applications should include a description of the candidate’s scientific accomplishments relevant to one of the scholarship categories.
Application period: 1 June – 31 August 2026
