2026-05-08Applications are now open for the 34th Annual Short Course on Experimental Models of Human Cancer, organized by The Jackson Laboratory. The internationally recognized program will take place on August 6–14, 2026, in Bar Harbor, Maine, with an additional virtual participation option available.
Designed for postbaccalaureate trainees, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists, the course combines expert-led lectures, hands-on laboratory workshops, and computational training sessions focused on modern cancer biology and translational oncology.
The program covers a wide range of topics, including:
- tumor immunology and immunotherapy,
- cancer genomics and computational oncology,
- patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models,
- tumor microenvironment and metastasis,
- AI-supported imaging and data analysis,
- stem cell and organoid cancer models,
- inflammation, aging, and cancer progression.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn from internationally recognized experts representing institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Yale University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NYU Langone Health, AstraZeneca, and The Jackson Laboratory.
The course also includes poster sessions, Rising Stars presentations, panel discussions, networking events, and specialized laboratory workshops in experimental cancer modeling and computational analysis.
A limited number of scholarships and travel awards are available for trainees and early-career researchers. Selected participants may receive up to $1,500 toward registration costs and additional travel reimbursement support.
