Call for Applications: representatives of doctoral candidates in the General Council for Science and Higher Education

The Board of the National Representation of Doctoral Candidates (Krajowa Reprezentacja Doktorantów, KRD) announces a call for applications for the positions of representatives of doctoral candidates in the General Council for Science and Higher Education (Rada Główna Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego).

The selected representatives will serve their term from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027.

I. Eligibility Criteria

A representative of doctoral candidates in the General Council for Science and Higher Education may be a person who:

1. Holds the status of a doctoral candidate;

2. Meets the requirements set out in Article 332 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended).

In accordance with Article 331(1)(5)(1) of the above Act, the National Representation of Doctoral Candidates elects up to two representatives to the General Council for Science and Higher Education.
According to the Statute of the KRD, the Board is responsible for electing doctoral representatives to the Council for a period of two years (half of the Council’s term of office, as specified in Article 333(1) of the Act), from among candidates nominated by an authorized doctoral student self-government body (§15(1)(8) of the Statute).

II. Required Documents

1. Application form (Annex 1 to the Resolution);

2. Consent for personal data processing (Annex 2 to the Resolution);

3. Curriculum Vitae;

4. Motivation letter.

III. Selection Procedure

1. The representative(s) of doctoral candidates in the General Council for Science and Higher Education shall be selected through a competitive process;

2. Candidates must be nominated by doctoral student self-government bodies (§15(1)(8) of the KRD Statute);

3. The required documents must be sent to the e-mail address provided below. Documents constituting annexes to this announcement must be signed either by hand or with a qualified electronic signature and submitted as scanned copies;

4. Applications must be submitted no later than 9 November 2025 to the following address:

5. Based on the Statute, the Board of KRD will select two representatives of doctoral candidates to the General Council for Science and Higher Education;

6. The competition results will be announced by a resolution of the KRD Board within 7 days after the submission deadline.
